Fireworks Alight the Heart
fireworks start the heart
like when smitten by love where
everything feels new and exciting
like turning on a light
electric and brilliant
rockets shooting signals of gratitude
for being able to find our way
in the dark or when celebrating
the freedoms possible in life
sunshine aligns with night
a bond, a relationship, a joining
of natural trajectories
time centered
crossing the barrier into playful
mischief
the night brings its own magic
the moon over earth in splendid light
lights splash and fill the sky
coloring the night in sparkles
and shapes
spreading star-studded circles of
jubilance and form
palpating our hearts in joyful attention
to stand in awe of light and freedom
reverberance and beauty
awaiting change
fireworks bring joy, exciting
thrills of wonder and awe
brought skyward so we can see
our love and abilities rain down upon
us in displays of workmanship and
know-how
steady and powerful
igniting the heavens and us.
